As the ASCE 2021 election nears – voting opens May 1 – members can learn more about the official nominees for president-elect through a series of nominee forums this month.
The forums previously have been part of the annual Multi-Region Leadership Conferences. This year, they will be hosted via Zoom, allowing members the chance to virtually connect with the nominees and ask them questions about how they intend to lead the Society.
There are two remaining options:
• Thursday, April 29, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. EDT
The official nominees for 2022 president-elect are Maria Lehman, P.E., ENV SP, F.ASCE, and Peter M. Moore, P.E., ENV SP, LEED AP, F.ASCE.
In addition to the nominee forums, Lehman and Moore recently sat down with ASCE to answer questions:
COVID-19 has changed many things in our lives and in our communities. What should ASCE do in the near future to adapt to this new normal?
What would you tell a student or younger engineer about the value of ASCE membership?
ASCE just released its 2021 Report Card for America’s Infrastructure. How do you think we should advocate to legislators on the importance of maintaining our infrastructure?
The ASCE election opens May 1 with online ballots accepted through June 1.
The election winner will be inducted as the 2022 president-elect at the Society’s annual business meeting during the ASCE 2021 Convention in October, before serving as Society president in 2023.
